Pepsi Ad

The purpose of this ad is to persuade customers to drink pepsi over coke. Although the Coca-cola logo is not on the red can, the design and vast knowledge of the coke brand makes it easy to identify what the ad is showing. The ad shows that pepsi should be preferred because the straw is in the pepsi can but the straw going into the coke can is personified and shows signs of distress and hesitance going into the can. The audience is people accessible to media, however, it is more aimed at soda drinkers, especially coke and pepsi drinkers. The rhetorical appeal shown is pathos. Pathos is shown because the animated straw shows comedy and appeals to us. This media and mode is visual and digital because other than the pepsi logo, there is no other words. The ad was also found online therefore is digital.

The style adds to the message of the ad because the background is blue like the pepsi can. The ad is simple and the only other contributing character to help pepsi is making the can look very refreshing. The blue design on the can is intricate and also very refreshing looking. This ad can be adapted to other ways of viewing by animating it for a commercial on tv, printed on paper for magazines or other paper media, and described for a podcast or have the straws animated.
