I decided to write about Noah Cole's twitter story because not only did it make me laugh, it was relatable and also allowed you to visualize the situation. His first tweet started off by saying, "Ok here's a story that just happened that is comedic and is basically the story of my life!!! :-)" This immediately engaged me because he stated it was comedic and I enjoy comedy. The fact that it also just happened and is a true story also engaged me because it is interesting to read about people's lives. Throughout the tweets, he uses a lot of pictures and gifs to help you see and understand the feelings felt a little better. It also assists with the comedic side of his story since all the visual media used is comedic. He uses short tweets and doesn't type in paragraphs therefore it is easy to follow and doesn't bore the reader. This also helps the story to be engaging because he doesn't tell you what happens right away. He says the series of events that happen, followed by a picture or gif. In order to know what happens next you have to keep reading. He builds up the situation to keep you interested. In his actual tweets, he makes a reference to Harry Potter which tells you a little about him because he uses the hashtag "#RealHarryPotterheadsKnow". He also explains the Salley Halls to those who don't know about it. This was helpful to me since I live off campus. At the end of his story Noah uses some sarcasm to close it off and explains how much he "enjoyed" this situation. I think this story was funny and relatable because I think everyone gets a little annoyed by their roommates every once in a while. Although it was so funny for Noah, it was for me because I wasn't the one going through it. I think everyone gets a little laugh out of other's people misery knowing the same thing can happen to them.
